I acquired this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 in 2018 and proceeded to turn it into a RestoMod
with new performance equipment installed throughout 2018-2020. I fitted it with a BluePrint Engines 509ci V8
equipped with a FiTech Go EFI 4 self-tuning fuel injection system, MSD ignition, Billet Specialties serpentine
conversion pulley kit and Doug Thorley headers with a Pypes stainless steel exhaust system. A TCI Street Fighter
700R4 automatic transmission was also installed along with rebuilding the 12-bolt rear end adding a Detroit
Truetrac limited-slip differential, hydraulically-assisted Wilwood disc brakes, adjustable coilover suspension and
power steering. The car is finished in black over a black interior with power-adjustable Recaro seats, a show car
Hi-Res sound system, alarm system, power locks, back-up camera and LED lighting.
The car came finished in Tuxedo Black (10) from the factory and was repainted during previous ownership. Features
include Dapper Lighting 575 Halo HDR/Switchback LED projector headlamps, chrome bumpers, SS396 badging and a Rydeen
Ulta Low Illumination HD CMOS III back-up camera with parking lines.
14″ Super Sport wheels are mounted with 225/70 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires that were installed in 2018. A
Classic Performance Street Beast hydraulic brake assist kit was added along with Wilwood disc brakes with drilled
and slotted rotors at all four corners. A Delphi 14:1 ratio power steering gearbox has also been fitted and the
suspension is the complete Global West Suspension's system that includes coilovers with Viking double-adjustable
shocks, sway bar, control arms with Del-A-Lum bushings, frame supports, anti-bump steer knuckle arms and adjustable
tubular tie rod sleeves.
Originally trimmed in red, the cabin has been reupholstered in black and features new power-adjustable leather
Recaro Orthoped seats bought and installed in 2018 along with custom-fabricated a-pillars, kick-panels, center
console, deck lid blow-through, sub enclosure and finished trunk. Soundskins sound deadening was added to the
entirety of the interior and trunk. Additional amenities include an auto-dimming mirror with a back-up camera
display, Chevelle SS-script floor mats, power door locks, billet switches that operate the high beams, door locks
and speaker illumination... and an iDatalink security system with Shock Sensor, Siren, LED, Hood Pin and Trunk Pin
alarms. The sound system was also installed in 2018 and incorporates the following components:
Sony RSXGS9 Hi-Res digital media receiver
Audison bit One HD Digital Audio Processor w/DRCMP
Five Audison VOCE amplifiers totaling 3, 580 watts
AudioQuest parallel RCA and fiber optic wiring for analog and digital connectivity
Eight Morel Elate Titanium speakers
Two JL Audio W6 subwoofers
AutoMeter gauges have been installed in the custom console. The five-digit odometer shows just under 80k miles,
approximately 12k of which I added... with around 9, 000 miles driven on the new engine. Total mileage is unknown.
Decoding the body tag reveals the following information:
The engine has a dyno graph from Blueprint Engines showing a maximum output of 658 horsepower and 614 lb-ft of
torque. It was installed in 2019 and is still under the 30 month 50, 000 mile transferrable warranty from BluePrint
and is fitted with the following equipment:
FiTech Go EFI 4 self-tuning fuel injection system
Aluminum fabricated air cleaner
Weiand Track Warrior intake manifold
Weiand Team G mechanical water pump
Billet Specialties serpentine conversion kit
Singer 300-amps alternator
